LOCALCODE source → setup → run

Find a local coding setup worth using.

Follow new models and tools, ask your existing agent to configure a setup for your hardware and work, and keep the checks that show whether it helped.

Put the hardware you own to work.

See the signal before you touch the setup.

LocalCode starts with public source links and a private hosted reading surface. The capture below is a local development interface with isolated state and retained source links, not the hosted feed; no telemetry or control action was performed.

Signal in. Evidence out.

LocalCode connects the parts people usually keep in separate tabs: what the community is noticing, what an existing agent proposes, what your machine can carry, and what a real run proves.

01

SOURCE

See what is worth a closer look.

The private hosted source feed brings public headlines into one quiet reading surface: r/LocalLLaMA, LowEndLocalAI, and Hacker News. It does not reach into your machine.

02

PROPOSE

Ask the agent you already use.

Codex, Claude Code, or an existing OpenCode management agent can propose the model, runtime, client, and native settings for a real task and a real machine.

03

CHECK + PREPARE

Make the fit explicit.

LocalCode checks the proposed combination, then prepares a provider or native client owned by you. The candidate release is deliberately narrower than the 0.8.0.dev1 implementation.

04

RUN + RETAIN

Learn from what actually happened.

Task and run traces, plus independent verifier outcomes, give future choices something more useful than a promise. This evidence loop is the point of the product.

OpenCode·Pi·OpenJetNo new chatbot. Aider is not the default.

SOURCE / PRIVATE HOSTED

Start with signals you can inspect.

A private hosted feed groups public source headlines from r/LocalLLaMA, LowEndLocalAI, and Hacker News. It is a reading surface, not a control channel: there is no machine connection, and public signup is deferred.

Different layers.
Different promises.

There is a real candidate you can inspect, native setup/library/runs implemented in development but not in that download, and a private hosted feed that is not a machine-control product. Keeping those boundaries visible is part of the experience.

PRIVATE / HOSTED

Source feed

Available as a private hosted reading surface for public source headlines. No machine connection. Public signup is deferred.

UNRELEASED / 0.8.0.dev1

Native setup, library, runs

Native setup, a library, and retained runs are implemented in development; they are not in the downloadable candidate.

DOWNLOADABLE / 0.7.0rc1

Provider candidate

The private candidate release prepares and verifies a local provider within its documented boundary. It is not a stable release.

NOT YET PROMISED

Comparable ranking, proven savings, and an unattended queue are future questions—not claims about LocalCode today.

Clear enough to choose.

What can I see today?+

The public site explains the product and its boundaries. The source feed is private hosted infrastructure with no machine connection; public signup is deferred. Protected downloads use the separate website and GitHub access path.

What is 0.7.0rc1?+

It is the downloadable private candidate provider release. It is a narrower, documented release boundary—not the native setup, library, and runs implemented in 0.8.0.dev1.

What does 0.8.0.dev1 mean?+

It names native setup, a library, and retained runs implemented in development, not in the downloadable candidate.

Is LocalCode another coding chatbot?+

No. The intended management layer works with capable agents you already use, including Codex, Claude Code, and OpenCode. Existing clients such as OpenCode, Pi, and OpenJet stay in the loop; Aider is not the default.

Will it prove savings or run an unattended queue?+

Comparable ranking, proven savings, and an unattended queue are future questions. LocalCode does not claim those outcomes today.

A better local setup begins with a better question.
